Who is who / Publications

Heinrich E. Weber's interest for batology (research into genus Rubus) was aroused in the 1960s during a phytosociological study on the hedges ("Knicks") in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany (see Weber 1967). It became obvious that particularly the many brambles - with respect to phytogeography, phytosociology and ecology - proved to belong to the most significant plants of the scrub communities investigated. The lack of a true basis for determination of the different species - due to insufficient taxonomical research - became quite clear at that time. - Meanwhile some 150 publications on Rubus have been published by H. E. Weber. Only books are quoted here (the first one dealing with phytosociological aspects):

H. E. Weber (1967): Über die Vegetation der Knicks in Schleswig-Holstein. [On the vegetation of hedges in Schleswig-Holstein] - Mitt. Arbeitsgem. Floristik Schleswig-Holstein Hamburg 15. 1: 1-196; 2: Tab. 1-43. Kiel.
