Abstract: Bromus (Poaceae) in Central Europe. Synopsis and identification scheme. The taxonomy and (to minor extent) the distribution of 25 species and subspecies of the genus Bromus in Central Europe, Germany and Austria, is surveyed and commented. Centred in the northwestern Old World, all the taxa of the genus Bromus evolved on man-made disturbed habitats up to present and, therefore, are anecophytes, so-called “homeless plants” without any stands in natural vegetation. In the considered region they are either indigenous (B. arvensis, B. commutatus, B. grossus, B. hordeaceus with some subspecies, B. incisus, B. lepidus, B. pseudosecalinus, B. racemosus, B. secalinus, and now extinct (B. brachystachys, B. oostachys), or non-indigenous, invaded from abroad but well established (casuals omitted). Attention is paid to the mode of origin of the polyploid and prevalently autogamous taxa, in some cases with special references to recently published molecular data. The hypothesis is formulated, that the tetraploid B. hordeaceus (2n = 4× = 28) is an autotetraploid resulted without hybridization from doubling and subsequently changing a diploid genome, not as in true allotetraploids from a combination of two sets of distinct genomes. Taxa new to science are B. pseudosecalinus subsp. fallacinus, the nothospecies B. ×robustus and the combination B. hordeaceus subsp. mediterraneus. Neotypes of B. ×hannoveranus and B. secalinus subsp. billotii are designated. – For a quick determination of Bromus species a tabular (lateral) key is elaborated.

Dunkel, F. G.: Ranunculus pseudocassubicus (Christ ex Schinz & R. Keller) W. Koch – nun doch in Deutschland19–31

Abstract: Ranunculus pseudocassubicus (Christ ex Schinz & R. Keller) W. Koch in Germany. A population of a large-leafed Ranunculus auricomus belonging to subsection Cassubici was detected 1965 and has been determined now as R. pseudocassubicus. This population still exists and represents the only population of the species in Germany. The differences among R. pseudocassubicus and R. cassubicifolius in basal leaf sequences and flower characters are depicted. The population is endangered due to succession of riparian forest.

Hügin, G.: Galium lucidum – kein sicherer Nachweis in Deutschland…33–35

Abstract: Galium lucidum – no record in Germany. The only occurrence of G. lucidum proved to be G. album. The few historical records are doubtful; they cannot be accepted as long as specimens are lacking.

Gottschlich, G. & Raabe, U.: Hieracium compositum Lapeyr. subsp. magnolianum (Arv.-Touv.)

Abstract: Hieracium compositum Lapeyr. subsp. magnolianum (Arv.-Touv.) Zahn, a culture relic at Dyck castle near Jüchen in the Lower Rhine area, North Rhine-Westphalia. A remarkable Hieracium population growing at Schloss Dyck near Juechen (lower Rhine area, North Rhine Westphalia) has been known for almost 100 years and placed within H. racemosum. But in fact it belongs to H. compositum, a Pyrenean species. Taxonomy, habitat situation and culture history of the species is described. Its presence at Schloss Dyck is obviously connected with the creation of the botanical garden by Prince Joseph Maria zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck, who was a distinguished botanist himself. Further details on floristic reports of H. racemosum in North Rhine-Westphalia are also discussed. We came to the conclusion that H. racemosum has been misidentified in all the documented reports and should therefore be excluded from the flora of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Abstract: An overlooked character of Epilobium lamyi F. W. Schultz. The form of the seed papillae is shown as a diagnostically important feature to distinguish E. lamyi und E. tetragonum L. s. str.

Gregor, T.: Typisierungen in der Potentilla-collina-Gruppe (Potentilla subgrex Collinae Th. Wolf). 1. Teil: Sippen ohne Zackenhaare…61–73

Abstract: Typifications in the Potentilla collina group (Potentilla subgrex Collinae Th. Wolf). Part 1: Taxa without incomplete stellate hairs. Lecto- or neotypes are chosen for P. collina group taxa without incomplete stellate hairs, which probably derive from crossings between P. argentea L. and P. neumanniana Rchb.

Elektronische Supplemente: Potentilla johanniniana var. caespitosa LectotypusPotentilla thyrsiflora var. brixiensis Lectotypus.

Buttler, K. P. & Hand, R.: Beiträge zur Fortschreibung der Florenliste Deutschlands
(Pteridophyta, Spermatophyta) – Zweite Folge
…75–86

Abstract: Contributions to an updated checklist of the German flora (Pteridophyta, Spermatophyta). Details concerning the nomenclature of the taxa Achillea collina, Anthriscus, Betula pubescens subsp. carpatica, Camelina microcarpa, Hordelymus, Populus nigra subsp. betulifolia, Silene baccifera, and some subspecific names published by Cesati respectively are discussed. In the genus Urtica an alternative taxonomical treatment is proposed. Consequently, the following two combinations are implemented: Populus nigra subsp. betulifolia and Urtica subinermis.

Raus, T.: Zitierhygiene 2: Perr. & Song.“ Eugène Pierre Perrier de la Bâthie und André Songeon
als Gefäßpflanzen-Autoren in deutschen Exkursionsfloren und Standardlisten
… 87–96

Abstract: Citation hygiene 2: “Perr. & Song.Eugène Pierre Perrier de la Bâthie and André Songeon as authors of plant names in German floras and checklists. The nomenclatural author notation “Perr. & Song.”, in Central European floristics connected to, e.g., the group of stemless gentians, is incorrect and misleading both in form and content. The former element constitutes a mistake in authors, the latter does not comply with the international standard of author names and their abbreviations (Brummitt & Powell 1992). The correct, standardised notation E. P. Perrier & Songeon which is solely to be used in relevant electronic databases and new print editions, is applied to the actual pair of authors in none of the contemporary German floras and checklists.
